If you find yourself in St. Louis looking to dine slow, these are the restaurants Slow Food St. Louis recommends.

  • An American Place - Supporting local farmers for more than two decades Larry Forgione’s St. Louis outpost.
  • Annie Gunn’s -
  • Erato on Main - Located just outside St. Louis in Edwardsville, IL few restaurants strive for this level of local seasonality.
  • Harvest -
  • Monarch Restaurant -With Chef Joshua Galliano not just buying from farms–but living on one too–it’s hard to find someone more concerned with food that is good, clean and fair.
  • Niche - Utilizing as much local product as possible, Gerard Craft and his staff have embraced St. Louis highlighting the best of what we have to offer on the way to a 2008 Food and Wine Best new chef win.
  • Riddle’s Penultimate Café & Wine Bar - Sure you can say your restaurant serves local foods, but since 1985 Andy Ayers has been setting the bar by which other St. Louis restaurants making this claim are judged. Sold to his daughter KT, she continues using the highest percentage of local product possible.
  • Terrene - Down to the tabletops of ShetkaStone; Terrene strives for sustainability in everything their restaurant does including of course their daily changing menu.
  • Schlafly Bottleworks - From a Farmers’ Market in their parking lot to SLOWednesday, Schlafly and their Maplewood Bottleworks facility have shown a continued commitment to going slow.

If you know of any restaurants we may have overlooked that strive to serve foods that are good, clean and fair, by all means, let us know.
