Brian Pelletier, Owner of Kakao Chocolate Kakao Clayton and President of Slow Food St. Louis, presents Slow Chocolate.

Chocolate is magical. You already know that.

But it really is magical.

The Aztecs believed a character named Quetzalcóatl literally came down from heaven with a cacao plant as a gift to mankind. And when you see how and where it grows you would believe it’s not of this planet.

But the process of making chocolate is even more wonderous, with more than a dozen steps where things can go sideways. When done right, and well, they all lead to the magical chocolate we get to enjoy, right here on Planet Earth.

Come join us for a photo tour of the rainforest where cacao grows, and see the steps required to produce chocolate. And learn how some chocolate makers take more care than others to produce the highest quality Slow Chocolate.

This event is free and open to the public.
$5 suggested donation to Slow Food. Enjoy the full menu at Rooster South Grand.
