Learn more about the Food Loop at SloWednesday on April 9.
The Farm to Table Food Loop, an online directory of over 50 farms and community-supported agricultural programs (CSAs) supporting the St. Louis area, has been published by Slow Food St. Louis. A group of local food advocates and experts came together to formulate an easy-to-access, hands-on, and information-packed listing to guide consumers to local food purchasing operations.
The directory includes an alphabetical listing of small to mid-sized farms serving the St. Louis foodshed. It details information such as location, purchase points, growing practices and stories about the farms. This directory will be helpful for retail consumers, farmer’s markets shoppers, chefs, restaurants, institutions, and schools looking for healthy, fresh, and local food.
An incredible variety of products are covered in the directory including dairy, eggs, meat, poultry, fish, vegetables, honey, nuts, herbs, mushrooms, and fruit. This directory can be used to contact farmers directly or as a reference guide for consumers shopping at the market or their local combined CSA.
