‘Ask Before You Eat’ Film Series

October 23rd, 2012 | No Comments | Posted in Featured, Films

Slow Food St. Louis teamed up with Gus & Wes Productions to produce three short films focused on questions you should ask before you buy the food you eat. These questions are appropriate when shopping at a farmer’s market, a grocery store, ordering at a restaurant or buying into a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) program. The questions are tools to find out the story behind our food. All foods have a story and these stories connect people to where our food is coming from, how it was produced and how far it traveled to the plate. It’s up to us to ensure that the food we eat has a good story!

View the films on our website’s You Are What You Eat page or on the Slow Food St. Louis Vimeo site. We encourage farmer’s markets, grocery stores, restaurants, organizations, farms, educators, individuals and anyone with an interest to use our films as an education tool by embedding or linking them to their websites and sharing them via various social media outlets or in person.

The films were directed, filmed, and edited by Gus & Wes Productions and were produced by Alix Simnock and Kelly Childs. The films support Slow Food St. Louis’ mission of “Eater Education” by offering a list of questions as tools to empower people to eat healthier and more sustainably produced food. For more information about these films, please contact Kelly Childs or Alix Simnock with any questions at kelly@slowfoodstl.org or alix@slowfoodstl.org.
