Title: Food on Film: DIVE!
Location: Schlafly Bottleworks, 7260 Southwest Ave., Maplewood, MO 63143
Description: Every year in American we throw away 96 billion pounds of food. That’s 263 million pounds a day. 11 million pounds an hour. 3,000 pounds a second.

Inspired by a curiosity about society’s careless habit of sending food straight to landfills, the multi award-winning documentary DIVE! Living Off America’s Waste follows filmmaker Jeremy Seifert and friends as they dumpster dive in the back alleys and gated garbage receptacles of Los Angeles’ supermarkets. In the process, they salvage thousands of dollars worth of good, edible food – resulting in an eye-opening documentary that is equal parts entertainment, guerrilla journalism and call to action.

Doors open at 7, films start at 7:30pm. Film is free, but donations are encouraged.

Start Time: 19:30
Date: 2011-09-26
